For now, robot delivery is available in five districts of Moscow – Airport, Tverskoy, Khamovniki, Ramenki and Presnensky, including in the Moscow City business center, as well as in the city of Murino in the Leningrad Region and Innopolis in Tatarstan. At the first stage, delivery of goods is available from 27 Pyaterochka and Perekrestok stores, and you can also order ready-made food from the Perekrestok cafe in a separate application window. The plans of partner companies include expanding the geography of the use of robots.
You can choose delivery using robots yourself in the application. At the same time, delivery time will not increase. The only restriction is that the weight of the goods is no more than 15 kilograms. If the order is larger in weight, it will automatically be transferred to a courier with a car.
You can track the route of movement of the robot courier in real time in the Yandex Food and Delivery applications. To pick up an order, you just need to go to the robot, click on the “Open Lid” button in the application and remove the package from the cargo compartment.

“As part of long-term cooperation between X5 and Yandex Food, we are developing several large projects aimed at improving the quality of service for customers of our stores. For two years now we have been successfully represented in Yandex application showcases, which means the user has become accustomed to the convenience of omnichannel shopping. No less important is the quality of courier delivery, a task that faces the entire e-commerce market . We are confident that robots are the future and the source of new operational efficiency. From today, high-tech Yandex robot couriers will deliver orders to customers of both Pyaterochka and Perekrestok,” said Sergey Pankov, managing director of X5 Digital.
Yandex robot couriers are designed to deliver orders over a distance of up to two kilometers. The robot moves independently in city conditions and can identify and avoid obstacles. It uses different types of sensors – lidars, cameras and radars, which help to see objects, as well as HD maps for localization in space. Neural networks help the robot recognize objects and make decisions along the route. Six driving wheels help the robots climb curbs up to 10 centimeters high.
