Working residents of Russia spend on average 18% of the wages onononline shopping

Experts Avito Work and  Avito Advertising surveyed over 7 000 working people in the country to know how much of their wages they spend on shopping on the Internet.

In on average Russians allocate about 18% of their wages on online shopping. For the majority of respondents (89%) the most popular places to shop on the online are classifieds – or sites with ads – and marketplaces. Advertising on these platforms is the primary source of information about discounts for 62% of survey respondents.

More than a quarter of participants in the survey (27%) have shopped online at least once in a a few times in week. On average Russians purchase goods and services online one time in a week.

Most often in – in 89% of cases – the residents of Russia make purchases on classifides and marketplaces, this trend is traced in all regions of the country. The next most popular are services for delivery of food food (29%) and online stores (20%). Russians purchase in streaming services (6%).

The majority of participants in the survey (38%) spend from 5% to 15% of wages on online shopping – this is the most popular answer in cities millionaires. A quarter of respondents (25%) are prepared to allocate 15% – 25% of salary pay to shoppingon the internet. On average the average consumption of shopping in this format of the country is 18% of salary.

Representatives of the fitness industry reported that the in average spend on online shopping about 25% of the salary. The top three spheres with high share of spending on shopping on the Internet are marketing, advertising and PR (24%), and also the automotive business segment (24%).

The presence of discounts and special offers on purchasing goods from favorite brands influences the decision to purchase 45% of survey respondents. In the same time 4% of Russians don’t consider discount an important advantage.

Absolute majority (62%) learn about discounts from advertisements on classifides and marketplaces. Other sources were social networks (30%), recommendationsofrelativesand friends(24%)and advertisingin searchservices(22%).
