As it turns out, July brought a further deterioration in the profitability of breeding. According to the latest calculations by WIR analysts, in an open cycle based on purchased grain, the farmer loses nearly PLN 165 per unit. An even greater loss is generated in the model based on own cereals, in which the farmer is "lost" by almost PLN 240.

The deterioration of profitability is directly related to the decline in the price of fattened pigs. In the June calculation, the value of PLN 7.20 net per kilogram was assumed, while a month later the price was PLN 6.86 net per kilogram. Therefore, despite a certain reduction in the prices of weaners and a reduction in animal feeding costs, the loss incurred on fattening increased significantly.
