The first information about the idea of establishing a platform that would enable citizens to send their opinions on the regulations being processed appeared in May.
The Presidium of the Sejm has already issued a preliminary opinion on the draft changes to the rules of procedure of the chamber. These will be changes that the milestones require from us, but also changes that we want to introduce ourselves – said Hołownia then.

A new platform for citizens to submit comments
The aim of the new platform is to activate the public in the scope of consultations on the law that is passed in the Sejm. After logging in with a trusted profile, users will be able to express their opinions on every legal act dealt with by the Sejm.
Even then, Hołownia declared that the process of submitting amendments would be completely public.
Each amendment will have to be recorded immediately online, by whom it was submitted and what it concerned – said Hołownia.
He also emphasized that the practice of submitting corrections on pieces of paper, which are often made at the last minute, should be stopped.

The system will launch in the fall
During the last session of the Sejm, Hołownia announced that citizens will have the opportunity to participate in the legislative process in the fall.
From autumn, every citizen – using a trusted profile – will be able to comment on any bill being processed in the Sejm, he said.
Internet users' comments are divided – from full approval and appreciation to extreme mockery.
A great idea, involving citizens in law-making – some write.
Even Marshal Szymon Hołownia can't imagine what awaits him – I'm going to renew my trusted profile – others mock.
However, most of them doubt that this change will bring anything.
Well, so what? The MPs will push their version anyway, writes one Internet user.
Okay, sounds cool. The question is whether anyone will read it – comments another.
Internet users also point out that before implementing new ideas, it is worth improving those that already exist but do not work.
I don't know what it will be like with this breakthrough, but for now, the Sejm websites are updated with a significant delay, not all links are "live", e.g. in the voting results there are forms of amendments, or the entire act being passed, for example this one, is missing. The transmission is also often lame, they write.
What is your opinion on this matter? Will the introduction of the new system actually involve citizens in the legislative process and increase public awareness of the law?
We invite you to discuss!
