Although it is no longer possible to fly directly from Russia to Europe, Russian tourists still find ways to get there, despite the rather high prices for travel. If earlier, in order to get to Europe, Russians had to first fly to Istanbul, Dubai or Belgrade, now flights are available from the CIS countries and Georgia. For example, Wizz Air operates flights from Kutaisi to Budapest, Rome, Athens, Milan, Thessaloniki and Larnaca. Photo: MARIKA KOCHIASHVILI

Despite the rhetoric in which Russians sometimes speak disdainfully of Europe, their desire to travel there has not disappeared. The Russian economic publication Kommersant published statistics according to which interest in trips to Cyprus has grown by 22.5% in a year, to Italy by 63%, and to Greece by 58%.
