Food import from Ukraine to Poland (volumes)
Based on available data from the Ministry of Finance in the period January-November 2023 (no complete data for 2023 yet), the following items were imported from Ukraine to Poland
mentioned volumes:
- rapeseed – 73.4 thousand tone,
- wheat – 347 thousand tone,
- corn – 597 thousand tone,
- eggs in shell (fresh) – 9.3 thousand tone,
- fresh raspberries – 0.4 thousand tone,
- frozen raspberries – 23.9 thousand tone,
- sugar – 35.0 thousand tone,
- poultry meat – 15.6 thousand tone,
- honey – 8.6 thousand tone,
- undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol strength by volume of 80% vol. or
larger – 5.6 thousand tons (approx. 6.86 million liters), - apple juice concentrate – 14.5 thousand tone.
And what was the domestic production of these goods in 2023?
- rapeseed – 3.7 million tons,
- wheat – 13.2 million tons,
- corn (grain) – 9.2 million tons,
- eggs (data for 2022) – 674 thousand tone,
- raspberries – 96 thousand tone,
- sugar (data for 2022) – 2.1 million tons,
- poultry meat (estimate) – 3.1 million tons,
- honey (estimate) – 24.0 thousand tone,
- rectified spirit (ethyl alcohol) converted to 100% (data for 2022) – 105.2 million liters,
- apple juice concentrate – PLN 200.5 thousand tone.
Farmers don't want to give up on Biedronka. Reason? Ukraine
Let us remind you that farmers from Agrounia want to completely block the access road to the Jeronimo Martins distribution center in Stawiguda near Olsztyn next week.
– We will block this chain (Biedronka) because it imports goods from Ukraine. And this hits us, agricultural producers, hard. Cereals, corn, rapeseed, honey, sweets and wafers arrive from Ukraine. In Ukraine, you can use plant protection products that are not allowed in the European Union and are harmful to health, said Michał Kempka, a representative of the Polish Agricultural Union Agrounia in Warmia and Mazury, on Thursday.
