The herd in question was in the last confirmed outbreak so far (2024/17) located in the Ryczywół commune in Obornicki poviat (Greater Poland Voivodeship). The farm kept exactly 2,766 pigs.
The previous three outbreaks concerned small herds of pigs. And yes:
- Outbreak no. 2024/14 confirmed in the commune of Myślibórz ( Myślibórz poviat, West Pomeranian Voivodeship) numbered 12 pigs
- Outbreak No. 2024/15 confirmed in the Skoki commune (Wągrowiec County, Greater Poland Voivodeship) numbered 62 pigs
- Outbreak no. 2024/16 confirmed in the Kiszkowo commune (Gniezno poviat, Greater Poland Voivodeship) numbered 70 pigs.

Swine ASF in 2024
Since the beginning of the year, 17 ASF outbreaks have been confirmed in pig herds. They occurred in the Lublin Voivodeship (Hrubieszów poviat), Masovia (Radom poviat), Greater Poland (Czarnków-Trzcianecki poviat, Gniezno-Obornicki, Poznań, Wągrowiec poviat), Warmian-Masurian (Iława and Nowe Miasto poviat), and West Pomeranian (poviat. Gryfino and Myślibórz). The smallest outbreak numbered 10 and the largest 2,766 pigs. As a result of the outbreaks, a total of 3,685 pigs died or were slaughtered.
