The next stage of the Information Campaign of the PROPRIETARY DOCUMENTS System is underway – the following banks are participating in this edition: Bank BPH, Bank Ochrony Środowiska, Bank Pekao, Bank Pocztowy, ING Bank Śląski, Krakowski Bank Spółdzielczy, Santander Bank Polska and Santander Consumer Bank. All Polish banks and a number of other companies and institutions participate in the DZ System.
The banks mentioned above are System Participants who joined an additional social information campaign and have a particularly significant contribution to promoting the idea of protecting us all against crimes using stolen documents. The campaign has been running continuously since 2010, it is a social project, financed exclusively by banks, thanks to which the security of the entire financial system has significantly increased

Three months ago, we informed you about a record high number of loan fraud attempts using someone else's identity. Unfortunately, the last quarter turned out to be even worse in this respect. At the same time, the total amounts attempted to be stolen are increasing – in the second quarter it was almost PLN 80 million. Six months into 2024, we have already exceeded the crime rate once seen in an entire year. In this context, it is particularly important to promote reasonable and safe behavior of each of us. We believe that the publication of the infoDOK report and other educational activities of the Polish Bank Association effectively fulfill this mission, said Włodzimierz Kiciński, vice-president of the Polish Bank Association.

The total amount of loan fraud attempts in the second quarter of 2024 amounted to PLN 79.6 million. This is 58% more than in the same period last year, although this amount is still below the 16-year average (PLN 90.1 million).
Despite the record number of fraud attempts, there were relatively few cases of attempts involving very high amounts – "only" 6 concerned amounts exceeding PLN 1 million. Every day, attempts were made to steal a total of 875,000 in other people's names. zloty.

In the second quarter, as many as 3,229 fraud attempts were recorded – a number 5% higher than the previous record from the first quarter of 2024 (3,068 attempts) – such numbers have not been recorded before (the infoDOK report has been published for 16 years). Statistically, 35 attempts were made every day. Traditionally, most such cases occurred in the Lower Silesian, Silesian and Masovian voivodeships.

The size of the Central Database of the RESTRICTED DOCUMENTS System with documents used to confirm identity amounted to 2,559,602 items at the end of March, which means that in the second quarter of 2024 the database increased by 44,418 items (this is one of the highest results of the first quarter in infoDOK history). Statistically, 488 documents were entered into the database daily.
