VIDEO: BMW Plant Hires Humanoid Robot

ВИДЕО. Завод BMW взял на работу робота-гуманоида

German automaker BMW has begun using a humanoid robot. The innovative robot was developed by Californian company Figure, its task is to assist workers on production lines. At the first stage, the humanoid robot is being tested at the BMW plant in the American city of Spartanburg. According to experts, the robot is capable of performing various tasks, including welding, as well as assembling and moving car parts. Unlike most robots intended for use in car factories, Figure 02 has a high degree of mobility and the ability to adapt to external circumstances. At the same time, the use of neural network technology will allow the robot to learn while performing tasks. After BMW completes the first tests of humanoid robots, the company plans to use them more widely to improve the efficiency and quality of production processes. In addition, such humanoids will allow the Bavarian brand to accelerate the process of robotization of the automotive industry. In December last year, Tesla introduced a new generation humanoid robot Optimus. According to the developers, the robot has become more dexterous and has learned to handle fragile objects.
