Victoria’s Secret is set to open its new Westfield Stratford City store in London this autumn after shuttering its existing location back in 2020.
The lingerie retailer first launched in Westfield Stratford back in 2012 but closed the location along with a flurry of other sites in a bid to reduce costs as US retailer’s UK arm fell into administration in June 2020.
In September of 2020, Next signed a joint venture deal for Victoria’s Secret’s UK business saving over 500 jobs.
The lingerie retailer’s US parent company L Brands formed a joint venture the with British to acquire the majority of the assets of Victoria’s Secret’s UK business. Next now operates all of the firm’s stores in the UK and Ireland.
Victoria’s Secret head of retail, UK and Ireland Daniel Cook said on LinkedIn: “An icon returns. Get ready Stratford, we are back.”
Earlier this year the business closed its Birmingham flagship store in the Bullring shopping centre after almost a decade.
However, last month, it said it would open a new store concept in Glasgow Fort this autumn, which will offer “a refined shopping experience” centred around its lingerie, sleepwear, and beauty products.
