According to Venipak’s statistics, most recipients pick up their parcels from the machines quickly – usually on the same day or the next day. “In Estonia, 71% of parcels are picked up on the same day and 17% on the next day. Only about 4% of customers come to collect their parcels three days later or later. It is especially noticeable that during the Christmas holidays, people want to pick up their parcels as soon as possible,” said Martten Kaldvee, Sales Director of Venipak Eesti.
The faster the boxes are released, the more parcels can be delivered. “Customers should carefully read the delivery notifications received via SMS and pick up the parcels within the set deadline, which during holidays is three calendar days. If the customer is unable to pick up the parcel himself/herself, friends or family members should be asked to do so,” Kaldwehe added.
If the parcel is not picked up from the dispenser within the deadline, it will be returned to the sender – usually the online store where the order was placed.
Kaldwehe also emphasized the importance of planning holiday shopping in advance: “If Christmas shopping is postponed until the last minute, shoppers should pay attention to the delivery times indicated by sellers. Uninterrupted delivery depends not only on the courier company, but also on the planning of purchases and how quickly online stores prepare parcels for delivery to the courier”.
Venipak has been operating on the Estonian market since 2011 and has more than 160 postal machines across the country.
