
As of 1 January 2025 year the new Classification of PKD, in which the plant alternatives meat and flesh have come into separate categories.
Until this time the plant branch had to benefit from category 10.89.Z concerning the production of other food products, where other unclassified. The Polish Association of Producers of Plant Food sent last year a request to include categories of plant substitutes of
meat and farm in separated special categories.

Plant-based alternatives meat and beans are gaining shares in market. Now have their own category PKD
– The growing market has scaled growth in the last years. The inclusion of plant alternatives meat and protein in PKD is the next step, to in the eyes of public entities the plant industry gained subjectivity, especially that the production of plant food is a key element of change in the direction of a more fair and less costly for environment system producing food. – says Maciej Otrębski Co-founder of Polish Association of Plant Food Producers and Head of Development in PlantJemy.
The new form PKD includes classifications 10.89.B Production substitutes of meat and 10.89.C Production of plant substitutes for eggs, beans and other dairy products, with excluding beverages. What surprisingly in the category dedicated to substitutes of processed processed beverages, substituting milk, they belong to the category of non-alcoholic beverages and bottled – 11.07Z.
The Polish Association of Producers of Vegetable Producers recommended the creation of two categories for plant alternatives;- one related to meat alternatives and the other for alternatives for protein (including with plant beverages).
