A rafter celebration is traditionally held at a building under construction when it reaches its full height. According to tradition, workers place a wreath at the highest point of the building, which the customer must remove and then set a festive table for the builders. This glorious tradition has existed in Estonia for over two hundred years.
In Tallinn's Tondi district, US Real Estate and Bildgren Ehitus organised such a celebration to mark the completion of the apartment buildings being built between the tennis courts and the historic Tondi barracks. The project includes a total of 48 apartments, which will be ready for occupancy in the spring.
Chairman of the US Invest Council Urmas Sõõrumaa thanked all the partners involved in the project and added that the rafter celebration gives everyone even more strength and motivation to complete the project.
"We started in March of this year, and in less than six months the residential buildings have reached their full height – this is incredibly fast. We have already advanced so much in construction that anyone who wants to can come and see the new apartments right now," he said.
Sõõrumaa added that US Real Estate aims to further develop the “15-minute city” concept by building new A-class residential buildings in the Kristiine area in addition to the sports centre, school and office buildings.
One of the biggest advantages of these houses, which will soon be commissioned, is their excellent accessibility and independence from public transport: in just a few minutes you can get to work, school, shops and many hobby groups and sections.
“Instead of sitting in traffic jams, parents can give their children a wonderful childhood by setting an alarm just 10 minutes before school starts – and the child will still get to school on time,” noted Sõõrumaa.
All apartments at Park Tondi Residentsid have a balcony or terrace, smart home solutions, luxurious interiors and high ceilings. Much attention has been paid to landscaping – both buildings are surrounded by a fenced green area where even the youngest members of the family can safely spend time. Cars are parked underground, and the entire courtyard resembles a large playground.
The partner in the construction of Park Tondi Residentsid is the long-standing experienced company Bildgren Ehitus, whose team has previously built Kiikri Residentsid and a number of other apartment buildings.
“Our cooperation with US Real Estate is progressing well – we are on schedule and looking forward to the completion of the works at Park Tondi Residentsid,” said Bildgren Ehitus board member Urmas Kaasik.
The exterior and interior architectural solutions for Park Tondi Residentsid were developed by Arhitekt11.
