Consumer prices in the eurozone in December 2024 year increased by 2,4% in annual terms – this was reported on Friday by the statistical service of the European Union Eurostat. Inflation accelerated by comparing with November’s 2.2 percent. In compared with November prices increased by 0.4%.In Estonia Estonia annual price growth accelerated by 0.3 percentage points compared with the previous month and was 4.1%, the BNS press service of Eurostat. Year earlier this indicator was 4.3%. In the EU this indicator was 3.4%, and
in the Eurozone – 2.9%. Consumer prices without considering the costs of energy, food food and alcohol, increased in December by 2.7% annually up
from the same increase the month earlier. Prices for food, alcohol and tobacco products increased by 2.6 percent after increasing by 2.7 percent in November. Prices for energy increased by 0.1% after decreasing by 2.0% month
earlier. Services became more expensive by 4.0%. In 27 EU countries the EU increase in yearly prices in December was 2.7% after increasing by 2.5% month earlier. Over the
previous month prices in the EU increased by 0.3%. The lowest inflation was reported in Ireland (1.0%), Italy (1.4%), Luxembourg, Finland and Sweden (1.6%). The highest increase in consumer
prices was recorded in Romania (5.5%), Hungary (4.8%) and Croatia (4.5%). In Germany German annual inflation accelerated to 2.8% from 2.4% in November, in France – to 1.8% from 1.7%, in Spain – to 2.8% after 2.4% the month earlier.
