Transport inspectors stopped a red truck with a white eagle painted on the cab on the A4 highway, near Karwian in Lower Silesia. It turned out that the Ukrainian carrier was transporting 23 tons of grain from Ukraine to Germany. However, it was found that the vehicle poses a threat to road safety.
During the inspection, a dangerous defect was discovered in the vehicle's braking system, which involved damage to the pneumatic conduit connecting the semi-trailer with the tractor unit. As the inspectors found, the leakage of the pipe, despite provisional protection with insulating tape, caused serious air losses from the pneumatic system, affecting the efficiency of the braking system – we read in the release of the Lower Silesian Inspectorate.
As a result of the inspection, the inspectors withheld the registration certificate of the defective vehicle and banned the driver from driving further until the defect was repaired. For driving a defective vehicle, a fine was imposed on the driver, and administrative proceedings were initiated against the carrier, which may result in a financial penalty.
