After talks with the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, representatives of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have announced further support for Ukrainian farms. This time, they will provide them with modular warehouses, tunnels and sleeves for storing grain.
"Grain tunnels and modular grain storage facilities will help farmers save their crops from the shelling of the Russian aggressor, and will also contribute to ensuring the internal food security of these regions and Ukraine as a whole," Taras Vysotsky, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, wrote in a statement.
The ministry, in cooperation with the regional military administrations in Kherson, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk, is assessing the needs of farms in the area of temporary grain storage in these territories, as well as in the area of other needs.
