
The State Railway Company Ukrzaliznycja informed in communication, that the point of border control of trains bound to the EU has been transferred to station Mosciska II. Now it has finished its modernization, which enables a significant increase in volume of freight traffic.

As informed the press office of the company, modernization and expansion of the checkpoint in Mosciski on the border with Poland was implemented thanks to EU support. This project has been financed with funds from the Connecting Europe Facility program and Europe Bank Investment. Actually all work related to the transfer of border trains bound to the western border of Ukraine has been completed.
We continue accelerating the movement of Ukraine to the EU. For this purpose we are developing and improving our border infrastructure. By moving the border point of train control to the Mosciska station II we will be able to double the capacity of this direction – said on the occasion of opening point Olexandr Pertsovsky, president of the Company Ukrzaliznytsia.
Even 15 trains per day
According to estimates of the railroad company, previously inspection could be in Moscis on average 6 freight trains per day, a inspection activity for one freight composition took about 2 hours. Now after modernization it will be possible to run there even 15 trains per day.
As calculates Ukrzaliznycja, under modernization the infrastructure of energy networks has been renovated, 4 towers have been built to control traffic by workers of the border service, posted buildings
of administrative and social facilities for employees of border control, prepared 4 runs for dogs of service, install a monitoring system with
30 cameras, and provide Wi-Fi reach on the territory of the control point.
