According to Bloomberg, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria have started joint demining operations in the Black Sea in accordance with the agreement. Its aim is to ensure the safety of navigation on the route where Ukrainian grain is exported.
The initiative in this regard was taken by the Turkish authorities. NATO countries are taking part in the operation, but it is completely peaceful and takes place only under the agreement of the mentioned Black Sea countries, and not under the aegis of the alliance. An agreement on demining trade corridors in the Black Sea was signed by Türkiye, Bulgaria and Romania in January this year.
This spring Ukraine reported that its exports through Black Sea ports had almost returned to pre-war levels. However, there are many dangerous remnants left at sea by the forces of the Russian Federation. From time to time, there are still Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports.
