Police officers from Kolno in Podlasie stopped a driver of an agricultural tractor in the commune for a routine check. Behind the wheel of the vehicle was a 23-year-old resident who was behaving somewhat strangely.
A breathalyzer test showed that the man had almost 0.5 per mille of alcohol in his system, which did not explain his behavior. The officers therefore conducted a drug test, which gave a positive result. The man admitted to the officers that he had taken amphetamines in the morning so as not to feel tired.
"During further activities, officers found a plastic bag containing white powder on the 23-year-old. Initial drug test showed that the secured substance was amphetamine," we read in a police statement.
In addition, after checking police databases, it turned out that the 23-year-old did not have a license to drive a tractor. According to the penal code, he now faces up to 3 years in prison for these crimes.
