Salary growth in Latvia continues this year, but not in all sectors: there are sectors where employees have not received salary increases for several years, while there are those where this happens regularly. Delfi Bizness found out in which sectors salaries have increased the most this year, where wages are higher than average, what will happen to salaries in the public sector and what are the current trends in the labour market. However, according to a recent labour market study by CVMarket.lv, most employees would like to receive much more in order to feel comfortable and be able to cover their daily expenses – at least 1,780 euros per month after taxes, says the company's Business Development Manager Kristaps Kolosovs. This is 561 euros more than the current average salary in Latvia, and since the average monthly salary of the survey participants was 1,219 euros after taxes, then to achieve the desired result it should increase by 32%, the company representative calculated. However, this is not some distant and unattainable goal. But in the public sector, it looks like changes may occur.
