Apocalypse Dinner Costco – food for the apocalypse
Costco Wholesale sells "Apocalypse Dinner", i.e. freeze-dried, dried food products that can be poured with hot water even after many years to obtain a nutritious meal. The offer is addressed to customers who want to be prepared in the event of a "global event that disrupts normal life". But not only that, the products are also used by people practicing extreme or even ordinary tourism.
In a now-popular Instagram video, cookbook author Jeffrey Eisner revealed that Costco is selling a food bucket containing portions of food that can last up to 25 years.
The bucket is manufactured by ReadyWise. According to Costco's website, various versions of it are sold containing larger or smaller portions of freeze-dried, dehydrated foods.
The smaller bucket contains 132 servings of dishes such as teriyaki rice, macaroni and cheese, apple and cinnamon cereal, tomato soup, vanilla pudding, etc. All this costs $63. (approx. PLN 248)
In the version containing 150 meals for $79.99. (approx. PLN 315) customers can receive 80 portions of main courses and side dishes, 30 portions of breakfast and 40 portions of drinks.
