Relay goes beyond locations for travelers. A new concept in Varso Tower
– Relay is not only the most powerful global news & gifts brand in the travel retail industry, but also one of the key concepts in our portfolio – alongside Inmedio, 1Minute Smaczny!, Aelia Duty Free, So Coffee and Costa Coffee. As in all our brands, also in the Relay network we focus on flexibility and adaptation to the needs of a given location. For example, at airports we focus more on souvenirs. At several points available outside the security zone, we also offer fresh flowers, perfect for greetings. Looking from the perspective of the entire chain, the offer includes increasingly broader food and drink categories, including coffee and snacks. We do not forget about the products needed for travel: books, press, as well as cosmetics and electronics – says Robert Imiołek, sales director at Lagardère Travel Retail in Poland.
After this year's openings, shopping in Relay can also be done at railway stations in Gdańsk, Piła, Kielce and Warsaw Gdańsk. In the near future, a Relay will be built in Krakow at the bus station. Railway and bus stations play an important role in the development strategy not only of the Relay network, but also of the entire Lagardère Travel Retail in Poland.
– We run over 70 stores at railway stations, most of them under the Relay brand. Rail as a means of transport is gaining popularity and we believe that there will be more and more passengers not only on trains, but also at stations. Thanks to many years of experience, various formats and the resources of an international group that is the leader in travel retail on a global scale, we know perfectly well how to respond to their needs – adds Robert Imiołek.
Globally, the largest number of Relay stores are located at railway stations – approximately 530. Over 340 stores operate at airports. In total, more than 1,000 points operate globally under the Relay brand in 14 different countries.
What distinguishes Polish Relay stores from those operating abroad is, among others: Kameleon – a multi-brand loyalty program developed by Lagardère Travel Retail in Poland, which operates both in urban spaces and at airports. With the application, you can benefit from stores operating under more than 30 different brands and in the aelia.pl online store. For purchasing newspapers, coffee or snacks, the user can receive a discount voucher to be used, for example, for books, cosmetics or perfumes. The offer of products available with the application is as wide as the Lagardère Travel Retail portfolio in Poland, and this includes many formats – from duty free at airports, through foodvenience points and cafes operating at railway stations, on the streets and in shopping centers.
