The company's revenues amounted to PLN 78.6 million. At the end of September 2023, the company employed 239 people. The chain currently has 31 stores in Poland (18 at the end of September 2023). According to dm representatives, in the fall the brand will debut in Warsaw in the Łopuszańska shopping center.
– We are in a dynamic phase of development and practically year by year we are doubling the number of stores in Poland, strengthening our position in the southwestern part of the country, especially in Silesia, but we are also systematically entering new voivodeships. After the debut in the Łódź region, we can confirm that in the fall we will open the first dm in the capital – says Marcin Detko, director of the dm expansion area in Poland.
Distribution is ensured by two logistics centers for the brand: the warehouse in Wybędy near Warsaw is serviced by the dm online store, while the warehouse in Oporowo in Wrocław delivers products to individual drugstores.
– The start-up phase, which extends over several years, is characterized by:
high fixed costs, e.g. for employees in the headquarters and distribution centers, and only slowly growing sales revenues. The result is an inevitable situation of emerging losses, which was also expected. The corresponding losses are compensated by contributions made by the parent company, dm-drogerie markt Beteiligungs GmbH, Karlsruhe, to the Company's reserve capital. dm-drogerie markt Beteiligungs GmbH, Karlsruhe, is in turn financed by dm-drogerie markt GmbH + Co. KG, Karlsruhe, which has stable profits, equity and liquidity – we read in the financial report of the chain.
