The Bioethanol AEG company based in Chełmża began its operations in 1947. The shareholder of the company currently undergoing restructuring is CMN Invest AB based in Sweden.
The closure of the Bioethanol AEG plant means the loss of jobs for 55 people employed there. The notices of termination will be given to employees at the end of May, and they will perform their duties until the end of August.
In 2022, the company had a net profit of PLN 1,473,275. The positive result was influenced, among others, by: obtaining a subsidy to cover the excessive increase in energy costs in the amount of PLN 2,396,177.
In 2022 and subsequent years, the company envisaged further modernization of the raw alcohol fermentation and distillation line and dehydration line, as well as the adaptation of the new chemical department in order to properly
cost efficiency and productivity growth.
