On August 16, a large fire broke out in the town of Szkocja, in the commune of Szubin. A total of ten fire brigades participated in the operation: JRG Szubin (four brigades), OSP Rynarzewo (two brigades), OSP Szubin (two brigades), OSP Tur and OSP Białe Błota. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to neighboring buildings, and there were no injuries, but the barn burned down completely.
A similar fate befell a barn in Wyśmierzyce, Białobrzegi district. Five fire brigades took part in the extinguishing operation – two from the Wyśmierzyce OSP and one each from the Kostrzyn, Korzeń and JRG Białobrzegi OSPs.
A barn fire also occurred in the town of Kantorowice. Several hours after the building was extinguished, firefighters received a report of another fire in the same building. In both cases, there were no injuries.
A barn in the village of Węgrzyn, in the Radoszyce commune, also burned down completely. 24 firefighters fought the fire.
After the teams arrived at the scene, it turned out that a barn with an area of 90 square meters was on fire – explained junior brigadier Mariusz Czapelski, press officer of the district headquarters of the State Fire Service in Końskie. – The actions of the fire protection units consisted of securing the scene and applying two water jets in an attack. After the arrival of the next teams, three additional water jets were applied in an attack – he added.
Neighboring buildings were not threatened, the electricity to the barn was disconnected.
Another incident occurred in Oleksin, in the Podlaskie province. The fire was extinguished by 10 fire brigades – from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bielsk Podlaski and the surrounding Volunteer Fire Departments. The building burned down. No one was injured.
