The Department of Sanation and Bankruptcy of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus revealed data about the number of active insolvency and bankruptcy cases for 9 months of the current year. The wholesale and retail trade outperforms other sectors of the economy by a large margin.
The wholesale and retail trade accounted for 42.7% of open insolvency and bankruptcy cases for January-September 2024 year. For the similar period of last year this indicator was even higher -43.4%.The second place in the number of bankruptcies is construction (13.7%), the third is
transportation activities (11.3%).
Open Developed Cases by types of economic activities
The most open cases of insolvency and bankruptcy were in Minsk. And by comparing with 2023 year their number increased more than in 2 times. The negative dynamics of new cases is recorded in
Vitebsk, Gomel, Hrodna and Mogilev oblasts.
