America introduced 100% tariffs on Chinese electric cars in May, but the Chinese did not supply almost anything there, because before that there were duties of 27.5% and the threat of a total ban if Donald Trump won the presidential election at the end of the year. Europe, unlike the United States, is buying cars from China more and more willingly and is in no hurry to break ties with its main trading partner and the second largest economy on the planet. Europeans are counting on investments from Chinese automakers in the production of electric vehicles and batteries for them.
