Estonia currently has a travel planning platform, peatus.ee, which is managed by the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture.
The new platform will be called MaaS X-tee and should unite all types of public transport and other transport service providers (bus, train, taxi, car rental).
“Thus, the MaaS X-tee data exchange middleware creates the opportunity to enter a new type of service market, where all the services needed for a trip can be obtained in one place, and travel rights can also be purchased in a single transaction,” said Mobility Project Manager at the Transport Department Helen-Liis Rydbeck.
According to ERR, the study alone of the new ticketing platform, which will last for a year and a half, will cost 840,000 euros.
