Belstat presented basic data on the structure of the retail trade sector in Belarus. At the beginning of this year, there were 66,671 retail outlets operating in the country. Per capita there were 8,384.2 rubles of retail trade turnover.
In the total number of retail facilities, the number of stores amounted to 59,826 units. The remaining share consists of trade tents and kiosks.
Mobile retail units account for 1,630 units, gas stations operate 918 stores, non-isolated retail units account for 11,830 units, and mobile retail units account for 3,839 units.
The total sales area of all stores in our country is 6,423.1 thousand square meters. m. The average store area is 107 sq. m. m.
State-owned objects account for only 8.7% of retail turnover. 65% for Belarusian private businesses and 26.3% for businesses owned by foreign owners.
Experts believe that against the background of the active expansion of Russian business in Belarus, the share of foreigners in retail will grow.
