The District Prosecutor’s Office for economic and corruption crimes sent a criminal case, in which accuses the company AS Olerex and its member of its

government Andres Linnas of providing false data.

In November of last year the State Court decision in the enforcement of the decision contained in the administrative act of the Department of Environment , by which Olerex was found guilty of failing to meet the obligation to deliver biofuels in 2022 . According to the accusatory conclusion of the criminal case, sent to Tartu Tartu County Court on Friday, Andres Linnas obliged Olerex officials to provide the Department of Environment and the Tax and Customs Department with difficult information about fuel, which arrived in Estonia in December 2022 in the December 2022 year, doing it in the interest of the company.

The evidence collected in the court proceedings shows, that Olerex provided the authorities with information about that 9 000 tonnes of diesel fuel had been imported to Estonia, produced on the basis of renewable feedstock, but according to data collected in the criminal production, this was diesel fossil fuel of fossilized origin, which is the followingknew Olerex and members of his government.

Gerd Raudsepp, District Prosecutor for economic and corruption crimes, stated, that, according to the accusatory conclusion, the purpose of providing false information was to make it appear that Olerex had fulfilled the obligation to deliver biofuels by 2022 year.

“According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the evidence collected in the criminal proceedings shows, that Olerex knew as early as the end of 2022 year that Estonia would be receiving common diesel fuel in a tanker. Despite this, according to the indictment, the company provided false information about the fuel received in January 2023 year , which Olerex received financial benefit, as it was thereby free from the expenses necessary to comply with the requirement for the fraction of biofuel. “In the opinion of the prosecutor’s office, the court’s evaluation of the content of the indictment and the evidence is unavoidable,” Rudsepp added.

Rainer Wakra, general director of the Department of Environment, said that the requirement for a fraction of biofuels is designed to make the fuel business more environmentally clean. “Illegal proceeds from the environment should not come from the hand. “Just as so disclosing the default of their circumstances and providing false information should become expensive, ” said Wakra.

The judicial proceedings were led by the Department of Environment in cooperation with Central Criminal Police, the criminal proceedings were led by the District Prosecutor’s Office for economicandcorruptioncrimes.
