Currently, the owners of the Svetofor network are waiting for permission from the Malaysian Ministry of Domestic Trade to begin operating in the country. It is known that the Schneiders are planning to open stores in Ipoh, Perak and Klang. The exact name of the future network is currently unknown.
Malaysian authorities also set minimum and maximum requirements for the size of retail space. And 30% of the products on store shelves should come from local small and medium-sized enterprises.
It is also known that the Malaysian company Partner Retail Sdn Bhd, whose shareholders include Sergey Shneider (79%), Andrey Shneider (15%) and Valery Yakovlev (6%), was negotiating with local suppliers.
