The new president of Rohlig SUUS Logistics

Piotr Iwo Chmielewski has been associated with SUUS since 2017. He has been a member of the company's management board for 4 years, where he was previously responsible for the areas of strategy, sustainable development, technology and digitalization, as well as sales, marketing and communication.

He was involved in working on the company's business strategy, the international expansion process and the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions related to the supply chain area. He also supervised the preparation and implementation of the first ESG strategy of the Polish operator. Before joining SUUS, he gained experience in consulting for several years. He has advised many companies in Europe on strategy, sales and marketing investments in the FMCG, retail, finance, energy and private equity industries.

– I am glad that I have been part of this organization for seven years, the last four of which as a member of the management board, and today I have the honor and pleasure to take up the position of president of the management board through family succession. It is a great challenge to replace my mentor and father, so I am glad that I will be able to continue to benefit from his knowledge and experience as the chairman of the supervisory board – says Piotr Iwo Chmielewski, president of the management board of Rohlig SUUS Logistics.

– The finalization of the succession is also accompanied by the start of work on a new business strategy. We want to be a leader in the entire region and therefore be the number one choice for our employees, customers and transport partners. The geopolitical and economic conditions in which the logistics industry currently operates require an updated approach. Therefore, from a strategic perspective, we focus on business efficiency and sustainable development. We will build a company that sets an example not only as a comprehensive logistics operator, but also as a model of high management standards based on people, technology and respect for the outside world – points out Piotr Iwo Chmielewski.

Rohlig SUUS Logistics has been on the market since 1990

– Our company has been present on the market since 1990. During this time, we have come a long and amazing way. We have grown from a small enterprise to the role of an important player in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Despite the very turbulent recent years, we are constantly developing, conquering new markets, improving competences and investing in geographical expansion. I am convinced that Piotr has the necessary competences to lead the organization to the next, already initiated stage of regional development – says Tadeusz Chmielewski, founder and current president of the management board of Rohlig SUUS Logistics.

Tadeusz Chmielewski will continue to support the company's operations. He moved to the supervisory board, where he became chairman. It will focus on supporting the operator's sales and international expansion, as well as on the development of other entities belonging to the SUUS Capital Group.

Almost 35 years on the market mean the dynamic development of SUUS. During this time, the Polish operator has built a network of over 30 branches in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, employing over 2,500 people. The company has foreign companies in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Kazakhstan. During this time, the operator also developed a comprehensive logistics offer for its customers. It provides road, sea, air, rail and intermodal transport, contract logistics, customs services, Project Cargo, as well as Supply Chain Solutions – consulting services and supply chain design tailored to specific customer needs. Currently, SUUS manages over 350,000. sq m warehouse space. The company has also made its first acquisitions. In Poland, it took over the EXPERT company, specializing in last-mile delivery of oversized goods, such as furniture, electronics and household appliances, as well as value-added services, and in the Czech Republic, Joppa Logistics, providing warehousing services and groupage road transport.

Logistics is not the only industry in which the SUUS Group is developing. These also include investments in industrial real estate, as well as entities from the so-called pleasure & leisure area, including Wine Avenue, distributor of wine and spirits, among others for the HoReCa sector and specialist stores, or Karma House – a hotel and restaurant located in Gościeńczyce, Masovian Voivodeship.

In 2022, the company generated revenues of PLN 2.291 billion. The company currently employs approximately 2,500 employees in over 30 branches in 7 countries and manages over 350,000 sq m. warehouse space.
