The Ministry of Finance has developed a bill on the complete transfer of labeling of imported alcoholic products to the territory of Russia. Now the labeling of alcohol must be carried out before the import of such products into the Russian Federation.
“ Currently, importers’ costs for alcohol labeling are associated with payment for the services of logistics companies and labeling centers located outside the country. Transferring the labeling to Russian territory will ensure independence from services provided by Western countries, and will also allow the country to concentrate financial resources to pay for such services. At the same time, the transfer of labeling of imported alcoholic products will contribute to the creation of new infrastructure facilities and jobs, the formation of new logistics routes in Russia, as well as the modernization and increase in storage capacity ,” explains the Ministry of Finance website .
Let us recall that from 2021 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, in the territories of the Moscow, Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Bryansk, Vladimir, Pskov, Smolensk regions, as well as in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Tatarstan, an experiment is being conducted on labeling imported alcoholic beverages placed under customs control. customs warehouse procedure. The experiment will last until 2026. According to the bill, the complete transfer of labeling of imported alcohol to the Russian Federation will be carried out based on the results of the experiment on March 1, 2026.
