Last year, cheese production in Russia exceeded 800 thousand tons. As Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut stated, Russian cheese makers not only provide the domestic market with high-quality and varied products, but also develop exports. Oksana Lut also noted that over the past 10 years, cheese production in the country has almost doubled.
“Many farm cheese dairies have appeared – today there are more than a thousand producers throughout the country, and almost every region has its own unique products. The next task is to develop the Russian cheese brand on the world market, where it can occupy its niche, successfully competing with many well-known brands,” said the minister.
