Министерство пояснило, как приостановка транзита российского газа через Украину влияет на Латвию

The decision of Ukraine to suspend transit of Russian gas does not affect the energy supply of Latvia, the LETA agency in the Ministry of Climate and Energy. The Ministry emphasizes that Latvia, as Lithuania and Estonia, receives a significant part of the natural gas needed for consumption from the Inchukalnske underground storage
of natural gas, and also from LNG terminals. The influence on prices for natural gas is minimal: prices vary from 48
to 51 euros per megawatt-hour, the ministration said. According to information from the European Commission, Ukraine’s interrupted transit of natural gas to the European Union has
not significantly affected the energy supply neither the European Union countries, nor Ukraine.News source
