The minister wants to support agricultural cooperatives

Minister chce wesprzeć spółdzielnie rolnicze

Agricultural production cooperatives have been struggling for a long time to adapt regulations to their needs. During the last meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski, they talked about the position of agricultural cooperatives in the turnover of State Treasury agricultural land, equalizing production conditions for agricultural cooperatives with those available to individual farmers, and mediation in enabling the National Association to join the structures of the Main Committee of Agricultural Cooperatives ( COGECA) and changes in the functioning of the Agricultural Protection Fund.

Cooperatives in Poland are of great importance, but they require support and stability. Every farmer should have equal rights. The development of the cooperative sector is hampered by tax problems. We must strive for changes that enable growth and stability! Meetings with farmers are the key to understanding their needs. Dialogue is essential for common development, emphasized Minister Siekierski.

The minister promises support to cooperatives

It has long been known that cooperatives are particularly close to the heart of the head of the Ministry of Agriculture. He announced that the demands of the National Association will be analyzed in detail in order to prepare the best solutions. Actions will also be taken to change regulations related to agricultural land trading.

The minister also announced mediation regarding the extension of the representation of Polish agricultural organizations in the Main Committee of Agricultural Cooperatives (COGECA) to the National Audit Association of Agricultural Production Cooperatives.

Let us remind you: last year the National Audit Association of Agricultural Production Cooperatives unsuccessfully tried to become a member of COGECA. Instead, NSZZ Rolników Indywidualnych Solidarność joined the ranks of the institution which, by definition, should bring together cooperative institutions. This situation caused great disgust on the part of cooperative members, who pointed out that COGECA should primarily bring together cooperative members, and not institutions associating individual farmers. Łukasz Zbonikowski, president of KZRRSP, also announced that the failure in last year's efforts is not the last word of the Association, which will apply for membership once again. Now the Minister of Agriculture has also announced support for these activities.
