The Lithuanians were transporting machines stolen in the Netherlands. Polish policemen stopped them

Litwini wieźli skradzione w Holandii maszyny. Zatrzymali ich polscy policjanci

Police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Sejny, together with Border Guard officers, checked a Mercedes and a Volkswagen with Lithuanian plates in a parking lot. As a result, two Lithuanian citizens were detained for thefts they committed in the Netherlands.

It turned out that Lithuanian drivers were carrying a wheel loader, a self-propelled lawn mower and 245 liters of diesel fuel in several containers in their delivery vehicles. Unfortunately, these machines were listed in police databases as having been lost by their owners in the Netherlands. The equipment was stolen at the beginning of July this year, and the victims estimated the losses at a total amount of EUR 39,400.

The drivers of the delivery vans, aged 24 and 31, were detained and their vehicles were taken to a police parking lot. The Lithuanians have already been charged with stolen goods. At the request of the District Prosecutor in Sejny, the court imposed temporary arrest on them for 3 months. Those detained face up to 5 years' imprisonment.
