When asked by Äripäev about the method of taxation and the wisdom of synchronizing it with the same year, Finance Minister Jürgen Ligi replied that there is no technical solution yet.

He promised to clarify the situation as soon as the relevant decision was agreed upon, and did not want to “add anything or speculate.” The League only reiterated that the state's need for funding was great, and taxation had been agreed upon in the coalition.

The new government has promised to collect 813 million euros in new taxes starting next year, of which 208 million should come from corporate income tax.
