Estonia is considering the possibility of producing

explosives from shale to supply the munitions plant. 

Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said at a press conference on Thursday, that the government approved the proposal to begin analysis of the profitability of the plant for the production of explosives.

“Anchor resident of the defense industrial park should be a manufacturer of large-caliber munitions, Pevkurnoted.–There is a critical shortage of explosives inEurope.Estonia’s oil shale industryhasacompetitiveadvantagethatitisworth exploiting.”

At the same time, there is a need for a new industry inEstonia.
