The giant has decided. Card payments without printed confirmations

Gigant zdecydował. Płatności kartą bez drukowanych potwierdzeń
  • Replacing paper receipts with electronic ones will help reduce the amount of waste that pollutes the environment.
  • Digital payment histories are easy to recover and resistant to damage or loss.

Mastercard is changing its standards, eliminating the need to print card payment receipts at all points of sale across Europe where Mastercard is accepted. With this change, the store clerk will no longer have to offer shoppers a printout of the card transaction receipt. It will be printed only at the customer's request. What's more, according to Mastercard's rules, a copy of the transaction receipt does not have to be printed by the merchant and can be stored in digital form.

Card payments without printed receipts

European countries are moving away from the need to print and store paper payment confirmations or receipts, introducing their electronic alternatives. Electronic solutions mean, above all, less waste, but also greater security and better accessibility of transaction data – digital histories of electronic payments are easier to recover and less susceptible to damage than classic paper confirmations.

Not having to print transaction receipts will help save valuable natural resources and reduce the negative impact on the environment. It can also contribute to lower overall energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
