The police detained a 57-year-old man who extorted money from investors who wanted to install heat pumps and photovoltaic installations in their homes. The man defrauded several residents of the Strzelce-Drezdena district in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.
According to the police, the District Prosecutor in Strzelce Krajeńskie has already submitted an indictment to the court against the 57-year-old. The fraudster has been operating since 2022. and in total he extorted money from several people in the amount of approximately PLN 120,000 as an advance payment for the delivery and installation of renewable energy devices. The victims transferred money to the "expert's" account, but the ordered equipment never arrived. The losses of each deceived person range from several to even several dozen thousand zlotys.
In addition, investigators proved that the 57-year-old also extorted bank loans by impersonating other people. The suspect was charged with a total of nine charges of fraud, using someone else's personal data and causing property damage. The man faces up to 8 years in prison.
