– Extended Producer Responsibility is an important topic for the processing sector, but not only – emphasized Czesław Siekierski, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Anita Sowińska, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Climate and Environment, who participated in the meeting, also agreed with the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
– This is confirmed by such great interest and numerous participation in the event by producer representatives – noted Minister Siekierski.
Legal and financial aspects of ROP
During the conference, the main topics discussed were the legal aspects of the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility, as well as their impact on the organizational and financial conditions of the food processing sector.
Food sector and packaging
– In Poland, the food sector is responsible for over 30 percent of all packaging introduced to the market – informed Andrzej Gantner, vice-president of the board of the Polish Federation of Food Producers Association.
– The conference shows how complex and important this topic is for the entire food processing industry and for the entire food chain, from the farmer, through the processor, to the trade – said Minister Siekierski, summing up the event.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture declared the ministry’s further interest in the issues related to packaging in the food processing sector, as this packaging has its specific properties.
