Selgos assesses the economic situation
– The management board is particularly positive about the company's development opportunities in the area of professional deliveries to HoReCa in the Cash & Carry and Foodservice channels. Due to the potential of the Polish market and the organizational and technical capabilities of the company, a significant increase in market share is expected in this area.
The company's management board also estimates that rising energy prices and the release of frozen VAT rates on food may impact the general level of inflation and a decline in the purchasing power of households, and consequently cause a slowdown in consumption. There is also concern about the future of small independent grocery stores, which may be replaced by chain stores. The above factors may be reflected in the results in 2024, the management board said.
Selgros invests in a monitoring system. Risk of cybeataca
Due to the ever-growing threat of cybernetic attacks, Transgourmet Polska is increasing investment expenditure on IT security.
– Further expansion of infrastructure alerting and monitoring systems was carried out in the context of the company's IT security. In preparation for the production launch of the new ERP system in the Cash & Carry sector, appropriate investments were made in IT equipment and the architecture was adapted to the system requirements.
