The European Commission has decided to initiate three new infringement procedures against Estonia.
The Commission sent an official letter to Estonia regarding the failure to meet waste collection and disposal targets. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive requires separate collection, recycling and recycling targets for e-waste. Estonia, like 25 other member states, has not reached the European Union target level.
Estonia has been given two months to eliminate the shortcomings identified by the commission; otherwise, the commission may issue a reasoned opinion.
