The new store with a sales area of 916 sq. m, located at 12 Heroiv Maidanu, became the second facility of the supermarket chain created in the accessible format. This format implies the comprehensive implementation of barrier-free practices to make stores convenient for all visitors, including people with limited mobility.
Particular attention was paid to the central entrance, which is marked in contrast, highlighting the automatic doors against the background of the glass entrance group. For better orientation in space, red stickers and other visual elements were additionally installed. Tactile tiles were also installed in front of the entrance.
The interior of the store is designed to provide maximum comfort for all groups of the population. The aisles between the rows (1.2 meters) and the exit from the checkouts (1 meter) create space for comfortable movement. All support columns are marked in contrasting colors, and obstacles such as thresholds or differences in height have been completely eliminated.
"We strive to make our stores accessible to absolutely everyone. This concerns not only our pricing policy, but also the environment and service in each of our markets," notes Inna Miroshnichenko, president of ECO Market.
As noted by the company, an important aspect of preparation for the autumn-winter season was improving the store's energy efficiency. In addition to a generator that ensures uninterrupted operation during power outages, the store has upgraded its equipment to more energy-efficient ones. This allows maintaining the necessary temperature conditions for storing products with lower energy consumption.
The navigation of the sales area was also significantly improved, which allowed the existing range of goods to be expanded. The cash registers, including self-service cash registers, were updated, and work was carried out to modernize the interior and exterior of the store.
