A regional center “Meeting Place Pervomaisky” has opened in the Moscow district of Vostochnoye Izmailovo. It was created on the basis of an outdated cinema of the same name. This is already the 19th opened facility as part of the program for the reconstruction of Moscow cinemas, which is being implemented by the development company ADG group.

The Pervomaisky cinema was built according to the design of the Soviet architect Dmitry Solopov in 1969; the foyer and summer cafe of the cinema were decorated with mosaics by Boris Chernyshev. Over time, the building became outdated and dilapidated.
The total area of the renovated building of the regional center “Meeting Place Pervomaisky” is 16.2 thousand square meters. m. Its appearance has become modern: the glazed central façade of a streamlined shape lets in daylight and creates the effect of openness to the city. In the evening the building will be illuminated. The design of the sign with the historical name of the Pervomaisky cinema was restored using 3D scanning technology and reproduced in modern materials. An open terrace has been equipped on the roof of the district center for local residents to relax, where creative workshops and leisure activities will be held. The internal space is organized according to the principle of a barrier-free environment.
During the reconstruction of the district center, mosaics by Boris Chernyshev were preserved. Guests will be able to see them in a specially created museum-lecture hall in the building of the regional center.
