The tax debt of private individuals and commercial associations increased by 17.8 million euros in the fourth quarter of the last year. It

increased by 6.8 million euros in the same period a year earlier.

The Tax and Customs Department (MTA) has compiled a list of the debtors as of 1 January 2025 year,

Debt of individuals increased by almost 3.7 million in the fourth quarter, mainly because of their unpaid income tax. According to the leader of the Department of Working With Revenue Liina Yyits, more than half of the new large obligations for the payment of the tax are already dissolved.

“The number of tax debtors among individuals increased by 1304 people in the last quarter, while in the same period a year ear earlier by 951 people. October dates for the payment of the land tax, and also the obligation came after the submission of the declaration of income, affected the increase in the number of debtors in the fourth quarter of last year. 86.8 percent of claims which have become duein October were paid on time,” said the head of the Revenue Department.

87.14 percent of legal individuals paid the requirements in the fourth quarter of 2024 year on time, a year earlier this indicator was 87.75 percent. The number of debtors among they increased by 158. Tax indebtedness of legal individuals increased by 14 million euros in the last quarter on account of their unpaid tax on turnover and special cases of payment of income tax.

“The tax indebtedness of commercial associations has increased also because of debt from tax resolutions which are forthcoming in the future. If the amount of such debts was at the beginning of last year1.4millioneuros,thenas ofJanuary12025it reached7.4millioneuros”, LiinaJyts commented.
