It is planned to reconstruct the bridge on Dzirnavu Street across Vecsloceni in Jurmala for almost half a million euros, according to the website of the Jurmala municipality. The Jurmala City Council approved the cost of the bridge reconstruction project in the amount of 494,710 euros. To implement the project, it is planned to take a loan from the State Treasury in the amount of 420,510 euros and invest 74,210 euros from the local government budget, using a targeted grant from the state budget to finance municipal roads and streets. Jurmala municipality has entered into an agreement with SIA "Būvinženieris" for construction work. The company received the right to carry out work within the framework of a tender announced by the Jurmala municipality. The Vecslocene River is a continuation of the Slocene River, which used to be part of the shipping route connecting lakes Kaniera and Valguma with the Lielupe River. Currently, the section of the river connecting Silinupe and Lake Slokas and flowing into Lielupe in Jurmala is called Vecsloceni.
