By the end of 2026, the Aurora multimarket chain plans to increase the number of stores to 2,500; now it has more than 1,500 outlets.
According to Forbes Ukraine, this was announced by the co-founder and CEO of the network Taras Panasenko . Aurora is the largest Ukrainian retail chain in the one dollar store format. The chain’s revenue last year increased by 93.5%, to UAH 26.9 billion. In June 2024, the company opened 40 stores, in July – 24, in August – plans for more than 30. According to the general director, the opening of 400 new retail outlets is planned for this year and this plan will be fulfilled. “If we take the Romanian ones together, we have reached 1,500 stores,” Panasenko said. In Romania, the chain has 25 stores, and more than 1,480 operate in Ukraine.
The company's development plan in Ukraine is 2,500 stores. By the end of next year, the chain should cross the 2,000 outlet mark, and reach its goal in 2026.
Aurora is looking for itself in other formats. In particular, a store was recently opened on the street. Zhilyanskaya in Kyiv on almost 700 sq. m. The company plans to enter new markets and strives to develop new formats and digital business in Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the first market of the chain opened in Poltava in 2011. Aurora lost more than 200 stores due to full-scale Russian aggression. The planned opening rate is at least 500 stores annually. Focus is on the western regions and the Kyiv region.
This year Aurora planned to open more than 50 stores in EU countries. However, as Aurora deputy commercial director for work with key partners Maxim Bezruk previously said, the retailer is concentrating on studying the Romanian market. In January – March 2024, Aurora's revenue increased by 55.2%, to UAH 8 billion compared to the same period last year. Then the company's revenue amounted to UAH 5.2 billion. The company's profit for the first quarter of this year increased by 11.1% to UAH 1 billion. In 2023 it amounted to UAH 907.5 million.
