Outbreak no. 2024/42 was confirmed on 26.08.2024 in the village of Grabowo in the Stargard commune (Stargard district, West Pomeranian Voivodeship). The herd in which the disease occurred consisted of 17 pigs.
ASF in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship
This is the second outbreak confirmed in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Outbreak no. 2024/41 occurred in an even smaller herd (it had 6 pigs) located in the Maszewo commune in Goleniów county. In total, 5 swine ASF outbreaks have been confirmed in the province so far in 2024. In addition to the aforementioned locations, the disease also occurred in the Gryfino county (Stare Czarnowo commune) and the Myślibórz county (Myślibórz commune).

So far in 2024, 42 outbreaks of ASF in pigs have been confirmed, the vast majority of which were in the Wielkopolska province. In 7 counties of this region (Poznań, Wągrowiec, Oborniki, Szamotuły, Czarnkowsko-Trzcianka, Piła and Gniezno), a total of 23 outbreaks were confirmed. In addition, the disease also occurred in the above-mentioned West Pomeranian province (5 outbreaks), as well as in the following provinces: Kuyavian-Pomeranian (2 outbreaks), Lublin (2 outbreaks), Mazowieckie (2 outbreaks), Pomerania (2 outbreaks) and Warmińsko-Mazurskie (6 outbreaks). In total, as a result of the occurrence of ASF on farms, over 16.2 thousand animals died or were killed.
